My Preface and Chapter 1: Life Without Limits

I'm always reading so many books. I'm usually buying my 'next' book before I even crack open the first one. Attribute some of that to my 'looney tunes' ability to try to focus on 500 things at a time. Keyword: try.
So here is my attempt to actually read, learn and apply what I read every day.

The books I'm reading right now are:

Made To Crave: Satisfying your deepest desire with God, not food, by Lysa Terkeurst

Life Without Limits: Inspiration for living a ridiculously good life, by Nick Vujicic

Bible, by God and various writing buddies

So, how do actually intend to read ALL three of these every day? The ADD in me has struggled with that. Actually, there are way more unread books on my nightstand then these 3. I choose to focus on these because They all say something about where I am at right now and what part of me I feel God is leading me to further "develop."

The plan... wake up to Bible and Made To Crave and work on memorizing scriptures in the back of the Made To Crave book. Nick Vujicic's book Life Without Limits will be my before bed night cap. These are my notes from last nights reading session.

Life Without Limits. To learn a little bit about Nick Vujicic, visit his website http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/  This is a man who was born with no arms and no legs. This man surfs, plays music, hits a golf ball, does some skateboarding... this is a man who has overcome a few obstacles and has let God work in his life.

Chapter 1 rocked my world. For the first time in my life, I was taking a regular ball point pen and marking and underlining inside a hardback non fiction book  like a crazy woman.

The first quote that jumped out at me was "think about any limitation you've placed on your life or that you've allowed others to place on it."  What limitations are there for me? He continues his quote here with "Now think about what it would be like to be free of those limitations. What would your life be if anything were possible?" The answer to that question for me was just too sweet. I had to sit and savor that for a long time. The answer to that question is also quite personal and I'll share with you, but you'll have to call/text or meet me for coffee to talk about it. The catch is, I'll want to hear your limitations and dreams as well.

I'll share a few more quotes that I love from chapter 1 here:

"when you give up on your dreams, you put God in a box. After all, you are His creation. He made you for a purpose. Therefore your life cannot be limited any more than God's love can be contained."  Did you hear that? DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS! I heard it. I won't.

"To wish for change will change nothing. To make the decision to take action right now will change everything!"  This is what I do as a health coach. I help you find the actions that will change everything. I have a meeting with a client or two every single day this week to create something called a "Structural Tension Chart." I'm excited. Putting it on paper and creating a plan will be the catalyst they need to take action and create change! Yes, I do these for myself as well. :)

"If you feel frustrated right now, that's okay. Your sense of frustration means you want more for your life than you have right now. That's all good. Often its the challenges in life that show us who we are truly meant to be."
"Some injuries heal more quickly if you keep moving. The same is true of setbacks in life."
"Im telling you that you can't even imagine the good that awaits you if you refuse to give up. Stay focused on your dream. Do whatever it takes to stay in the chase. You have the power to change your circumstances. Go after whatever it is you desire. "
"If you aren't where you want to be or haven't achieved all you hope to achieve, the reason most likely resides not around you but within you. Take responsibility and then take action."

"You should consider yourself the stick and the world your pot of stew. Stir it up."
"Sometimes, you see, God expects you to help out with the heavy lifting."

"I did not lack credibility. Instinctively, people felt I might have something to say that could help them with their own problems."  This is why I love being a health coach, by the way. God uses me to reach many people.

"I realized that I'd become the miracle that I'd prayed for."

Thanks Nick for allowing God to use you, for sharing with others what He's taught you. My prayer for today is that I will stir up my pot of stew, that I will continue to work through the things that are limiting me from accomplishing my goals, that God would be glorified through the process and that others will be inspired to pay it forward. I really look forward to reading this book and I may have difficulty limiting it to one chapter a day.
